Good afternoon, gang!
1. FROM THE HEART
Title: Son of God - Faith

Verse Text: "Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through me"
For me the song "Son of God" is a statement of faith...I sometimes struggle to see past the
sometimes seemingly fairytale-like story of Jesus on the cross and His redemption of mankind. So it goes a long way for me to speak out the truths that I
believe deep down in my soul, but often struggle to grasp.
I begin to pick things apart in my head and overanalyze the Legitimacy of the gospel and whether Jesus
really was who He said He was. In this place of doubt and unbelief I often find myself simply praying for a childlike faith and a soul that is willing to take
God at His word, believing in the grace that he has extended to me through Jesus.
I know that it is impossible for me to have all the answers while I'm on this earth. But the more I surrender my
need for answers and my need for control, the more Jesus becomes real to me. To me, this song is a proclamation that says, "Jesus, I believe that
you are God, and I stand here with a sometimes weary faith, but faith enough to believe that you have forgiven me and that you loved me enough to die
in my place."
This conscious decision to speak the truth over my life solidifies my faith and trust in God. This state of
surrender is when I'm the most free to worship, and I can honestly sing "Jesus, the Son of God, the shaper of the stars, You are worthy of all my
praise"
Here is some of what is going on in the music ministry at FBC this week:
We are back together tomorrow night at our regular time of 6:30 pm. You are more than welcome to come
before rehearsal time or stay after the rehearsal for "social time" in the parking lot. The full UPDATED rehearsal schedule is in the right column
of this newsletter. Take note that tomorrow night will be our final rehearsal for the Spring semester. We will resume rehearsals on August 11, 2021 with the
entire group in the Sanctuary.
DON'T FORGET: Sunday, May 2 will be our final time to sing in worship this Spring. Please be in your place
by 10:22 am. Bring your black notebook and your NEW black face mask. We will sing "May We Walk Worthy" during the service - (A demo of the
anthem is in this newsletter. Please take some time to view it before tomorrow night and Sunday). We will exit the choir loft, in an orderly manner, during
the hymn that follows.
Finally, remember to dress modestly and be aware that you will be on camera. So look sharp!

God's Promise from Nahum 1:7 (NIV) - "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for
those who trust in him."
What Does This Mean For Me? - God IS good! He will care for you as you trust him to supply your needs
each day.
